Quaint saga of life on the farm in Minnesota.
Four novellas, novelettes? involving young women and the beginning of public libraries in the frontier West. Each story different but satisfying.
I'm apparently reading Westerns now because this is the second one within a month and it was better then the last one! It's also in the Youth Reader category but it will appeal to the adult reader even more! Taste these lines: "Beller stank like dead fish and skunk." (from Chapter 11) and "Dense fog settled like a heavy quilt over Whisky Creek." (from Chapter 29) and savor how a few words tossed together by a talented author can immerse you so completely.
