Kurzbiographie
Edmund Alexander Sims is the Chief Executive Officer of and a Frequent Contributor for Dope Enterprises Infinity - a Buffalo Grove, Illinois-based company that creates, publishes, markets, and distributes literary and music entertainment. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the company and leading its two subsidiaries: Dope Enterprises and Def Mute Records. Edmund joined Dope Enterprises Infinity in 2009.

When asked about writing, Edmund's first love, he often takes a modest tact in describing himself as merely a scribe - just the hand which guides the pencil across the paper or the fingers that type the text into the word processor. Nothing more. All credit is really due to the characters because they are the ones who truly drive these stories. They are the ones who are responsible for navigating the most pressing of situations, sorting out varying degrees of conflict, and seeking some semblance of resolution. He cannot take the credit for this because, ultimately, their stories deserve to be told, and it is his duty (as an author) to honor them.

Prosaic cinematography and stream of consciousness are the literary tools that Edmund uses to create deeply immersing works which plunge readers completely into the middle of the action as well as the heads of the characters. With intricately woven story lines and a naturally diverse character set, he seeks to broaden the audience for reading while giving the bookworms a tantalizing new feast of refreshing literature. His bibliography includes the SpaceStation Colt, Enforcers, and Domina series.

I received this book as an "early reviewer". It is book two in a series and of course I have not read book one, which makes it hard to understand what is going on in this book. It starts with snippets of text from book one and a number of quotes intended to set the scene. There are a number of characters which I assume one would be familiar from book one. Knowing nothing of the world makes it hard to get into the book. The setting seems to be that humans have colonized the universe(s) and settled on Second Earth. There are a number of factions fighting for power and a mysterious police (?) force called "The Enforcers" are at the center of it. They are superhero style fighters that battle other factions. Fights are described in detail which is good if you like to read this kind of violent laser action. Otherwise I think there are too many characters to get to know and the language is unnecessarily complex with long elaborate sentences constructed with the most difficult words.… (mehr)

An extremely short, partial installment of a superhero book. In this part, we are introduced to Domina, a scantily clad crime-fighter who has the ability to turn anyone into a helpless slave. Her secret identity is the traditional high-powered executive. Really, from what I can tell from this small section, this book is just bad. Domina is an over-powered bombshell with nothing to add in terms of personality. The narrative plunges awkwardly from half-cocked discussions of feminism to extremely vague and fake-sounding board meetings. Nothing has a point. The writing is just so stilted and uneasy. The author has a way of using big words that make you doubts he knows exactly what they mean. Add that to the fact that the author self-censors by blanking out his characters' curse-words. How does that make any sense?

The fact that I couldn't even auto-add this book because Library Thing couldn't find a record of it should say plenty about its quality. Give this one a miss.

This was hard to get into. I wasn't very taken with the first 100 pages, so finishing it was arduous.
