I really enjoyed this clean romance with it's big message, I bought this at a local store and I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 5* rating. Some people never know what it's like to be threatened by someone close to you. There are so many types of abuse we are sometimes exposed to. Some times we can brush it off but often there are many scars, both physical and emotionally. This author did a great job of showing how the effects can sneak up on you. Good job.

I really enjoyed this clean, Love-Inspired Romance. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 4.7* rating. There were a couple of slow spots but for the most part, it read pretty fast. Also a note to the reader, about the mother's illness. It's well worth reading also.

Hometown Healing is a heartwarming coming home story about finding second chances. I enjoyed this novel by Jennifer Slattery as I settled into the Southern small-town charm of Sage Creek.
I loved the themes of healing and weathering hardship in this book and how Paige discovers perfection shouldn’t be her goal since real-life is far from perfect. Instead, the story emphasizes that clinging to faith and loved ones are what makes life worthwhile. Paige and Jed's story definitely gives you misty eyes a time or two.
Paige was deemed stubborn by more than one character, and her mule-headed nature was frustrating at times. But her poor wounded heart was eventually laid bare, and her behavior made more and more sense. I loved her transformation from the beginning of the story to the end. And little Ava is a doll.
Jed is a hunky cowboy, to be sure. But I loved his gentle nature, and how he was willing to risk his heart for Paige. I mean, he mowed his grandmother's yard every week! Sigh.
The dinner theater renovations were a blast, and it was so much fun to see all the work Jed and Paige put into it. Now, I want to get tickets for a local show!
If you enjoy contemporary Christian fiction/romance, you will enjoy this sweet story. Take a chance on this book full of second chances! You won’t regret it.

I was given a copy of this book by the author with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are my own.

A sweet, sweet story that left me smiling, Hometown Healing by Jennifer Slattery has small-town romance, coupled with plenty of second chances, forgiveness, and a fun dinner-theater setting.

Paige Cordell returns to her hometown—but only temporarily. Jed Gilbertson, of course, has other hopes for Paige. As they work together, hurts from the past lay between them, and he needs a lot of patience and perseverance to work his way back into her heart—and convince her to stay.

Paige and Jed have chemistry from the start, and it becomes easier and easier to cheer them toward love with each new emotional detail the story shares. I so enjoyed seeing their growth throughout their romance, and I’m sure other fans of contemporary romance will, too.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.
