Una noche, Sarah, una adolescente de carácter fantasioso, se ve obligada a quedarse en casa cuidando a Toby, su hermano pequeño. Cuando sus padres se marchan a una fiesta, harta de oír llorar al niño, Sarah recita unos versos de su libro favorito, Dentro del laberinto, y ordena a los goblins que se lleven a su hermano. Al momento, unas extrañas criaturas aparecen y se esfuman con Toby. Poco después, un hombre misterioso y atractivo surge de la nada y se presenta como Jareth, el rey de los goblins, para a continuación sugerirle a Sarah que se olvide del niño. Arrepentida de lo que ha hecho, Sarah le pide que le devuelva a Toby, pero el rey se niega. Entonces él le propone un trato:
«Tienes trece horas para atravesar el laberinto y encontrar a tu hermano. De lo contrario, se convertirá en uno de nosotros».

In my experience, movie novelizations are almost always terribly written. Being a big fan of the movie and the universe, I was expecting this to be cheesy, but fun. I was way off - this is an excellent novel! If you've never seen the movie, I think this book does a great job of conveying what happens. In fact, if you didn't know it was a movie, it's a great novel that fits right in with the other written Dark Crystal materials. Definitely read this if you're a fan, or if you're looking to see what the fandom is about.… (mehr)
