I know a lot of people are not a fan of this book but this was a solid 4 for me.

There are so many times in life we have to fake it to make it and this book lives that out loud. Being a strong female worker in a male dominated place, Emmie has to do what it takes to get to the position she is aiming for. Tate is an annoying character. Even when his “cuteness” comes into play, he isn’t that strong for me - until he starts opening up and showing himself. I think there are a lot of people who can connect with an anxiety issue and being an introvert. My pros, Emmie isn’t a character I would remember and I had to look her name up in the book for this review and Tate stood out simply because I deal with a few of the same issues.… (mehr)

This book was, simply put, amazing. I fell In love with Theo and Maya from the moment I first met them. The tension between them was so well written and banter was not only filled with laugh out loud moments, but more importantly, with storytelling! Each interaction moved the story forward and kept building tension that drew me in and had me rooting for them. I love books that enable me to see, hear, and watch the characters live as I read, and this book had that with all the characters even the secondary ones! I didn't know this was book two in a series until the end, and I was able to read this without a problem and fall into the Grant Family Dynamics. I will be reading more by this author soon! If you are looking for a wonderfully written story to warm you up on a chilly night, then you have a great choice here!… (mehr)

I've come to the conclusion that the author's books are not just meant for me. While better than the 1st book, it's still not great. I had issues especially with the HUGE misunderstandings that kept popping up. It was unrealistic and eventually annoying. Also I didn't get any chemistry between the 2 of them nd their conversations in so many scenes were stilted.
The best thing about the book was the food descriptions.

A brief review of the entire universe of DC, that puts things into perspective, and gives you a small look at how the universe (literally) came into being, spurring superheroes we know and love, other worlds, and conflicts any DC fan is aware of.

Makes me want to learn more about some superheroes I never heard of before, and that's always a plus.
