The reason this is twisted is because it's like the worst sloshy mess of a D&D campaign where everybody has their own stupid thing they want to do or say but the DM just drags them on his prepared adventure by DM fiat and they get all resentful. Only--reason it's twisted--the writer controls all the characters here, of course, so he's doing it to himself. Also the art is ugly and there's too much bad dialogue and it's derivative of 8-Bit Theater but not the fun parts.

This is like that sitcom Joey except with no happy memories of Friends and the main dude's greasier and more obsessed with Star Wars.

One of the greatest picture books on parenting I have ever read. Written from a father's standpoint, it nevertheless applies to anyone who has parented a small child. Unbelievably touching and hilarious.

The biggest problem with this book is that it's too short. It's also too big - a massive square foot.

Other than that, well if Sohmer could sustain it, this could be the next great newspaper comic. Rayne is a nutty, but true-to-life child; his parents are have a delightful sang froid about his antics and the art is fabulous.

Readers of Sohmer's other series Least I Could Do get the added bonus of seeing glimpses of the future Rayne here and there throughout the book. In addition, Baby is the cutest kitten ever!

A great book for fans of Sohmer and Lars and for those who like comic strips about kid life.
