The thread about DI Bradford's missing wife Sarah pulls you through the five episodes, but the overall writing is pretty ludicrous. If the squad gets a call about someone in danger across down, they pile into a car and head that way--never bothering to have a patrol car in the vicinity get there quickly! In two seasons, we have had mother murdering son, cousin murdering cousin, sister murdering brother, and an 8-year old murdering his grandfather! I only keep watching because I like the actors and because it is set in London, one of my favorite cities. Luckily, it's a British show, so the number of episodes per season is low!… (mehr)

The world's most unglamarous murder squad deals with some pretty sordid crimes, while their leader is also looking for his wife, who disappeared six months earlier. Naturally, there are surprising connections between everything. The actors are good, but the stories certainly don't rise above the level of decent, and they could definitely make better use of London locations. There are some serious plot implausibiliites, such as a man having an affair--in his own houseboat--with a dark-haired woman while his blonde wife is at work! Didn't he ever watch "A Guide to the Married Man"? Now that's a classic I can recommend. There's a semi-cliffhanger at the end of the series, and these episodes pass quickly enough, so I may watch more to see how the relationships between these characters develop--and to see what the arc for Season 2 is.… (mehr)
