To be honest, I can't imagine that I would have made this back when I could have. In fact, I just read the directions for dressing, and I can't imagine ever wearing this if somebody else had sewn it. And that's just the first of four dresses in the book.

However, is you have the urge to sew an authentic 18th century gown, by hand, and already have suitable stays, this is probably the right book for you.

As a matter of fact, at least that first dress did not include hoops or bum pillows. Not my thing.… (mehr)
