In this book, Swan has aggregated information from a wide range of sources to present a conceptual introduction to the blockchain. So this is not a coder's introduction to the subject, but rather a look at the present and some of the possible future uses of blockchain technology. Swan therefore has organized her book into three principal sections that she calls Blockchain 1.0 (currency), 2.0 (contracts), and 3.0 (justice applications). The third is a collective term for applications beyond markets, such as intellectual property and notary services; government services like voting; efficiency services like medical records, journalism, and education.

Overall, I found this to be a succinct, readable presentation. I suspect, though, that to remain relevant, the book will need frequent updates.… (mehr)
