This is a very traditional textbook but it uses the traditional methods (exercises plus short stories ) very effectively. The exercises stick to a limited vocabulary which makes the English to Greek doable even if you are working on your own. And he somehow manages to make the sentences of the exercises interesting in a way no other Ancient Greek textbook writer has managed.

This little dictionary is a gem. I bought it to extend beyond the vocab so readily supplied by the numerous New Testament Greek helps (although it is useful for NT work also). It is not an analytical dictionary and has no references to usage in the literature - in this regard "Pocket" says it all. However, as a quick reference for the stumbling reader it is great.

In addition to the main lexicon it also has a (much briefer) English- to Greek section, a list of proper names (English->Greek), a chart of numerals (very helpful) and a table of principal parts for the top 101 irregular verbs. A couple of simple maps close this useful volume.

To top it all off, it has a good bold Greek font which is easy to read.
