The Replacement Guitarist (The Replacement… von Lori Toland
One of the turn-offs for me was that there was nothing between the main characters (Blaze, the guitarist and Jason, a pop-star's manager) but sex. When and how did they manage to fall in love is really beyond me. I wish the author touched up a little more on their common interests at least, not to mention the time they spent together dressed and out of Jason's office, however little that might be.
This is a sexy, hot and strangely enough, sweet story. I would have loved it to have been longer but then that's a common complaint for me regardless lol. Also a touch of insta-love, but because there wasn't an immediate "and they lived happily ever after, without any problems" it wasn't jarring. I would love to read more about these two and their on-going relationship.
This is a sweet, fun, much too short story about two men brought together by a wounded kitten. It takes the two humans a while to work out that they belong together, but when they do, it's a major success and just goes to show that cats know better than humans.
Hurricanes are no a joking mater, and the danger they put people in can bring about situations where "normal" behavior is suspended for a little while. When the storm in this story hits, Jared and Mike are suddenly isolated and ready to explore a mutual attraction neither of them wants to admit even exists.
Jared is a hospice nurse and needs transportation to and from a patient who as decided not to evacuate. He has been crushing on Mike forever, and when they find themselves isolated, he takes the opportunity to give in to his feelings. Not that it does him any good, since Mike seems to ignore him the next morning and Jared is devastated. A week goes by until Mike comes by and they talk, but I was never clear what Mike's problem was and had trouble connecting to either one of the main characters.
If you like catastrophe-type situations, if you’re not expecting any real conflict, and if you're looking for some hot man-on-man action, you will probably like this short story.
