Vincent Trigili (1975–2020)

Very short novella. Good plot idea, and nice to see a younger version of some familiar characters. The story being told however was not terribly interesting.

Good book, well written, easy to read, interesting plot, good characters.

Nice new take on a dragon rider type story. What happens to the riders if the dragons have been extinct for centuries? They descend into madness and death. Can anything save them?

Very easy read, this book doesn't focus over much on details, and it happy to skip chunks of time when necessary. Hardly any romance. Barely any gore. But an engaging narrative, innovative plot, and almost stand alone story.

I'm on my second pass through this series. My first pass was from January 21 to March 18, 2012. There are two new books out and another on the way. I need to refresh my memory.

I would have enjoyed it more if there were more to it. Calling this a short story is almost generous. Taking credit for this as one of the books in my 2016 Goodreads reading challenge seems like cheating. I'll acknowledge that this could be a much better story if it were fleshed out more.
