Bit of a spicy Hallmark vibe. Piney Peaks is the setting for what became a classic Christmas movie 50 years ago. Elisha is on the local film board and hoping that the long-awaited sequel will be filmed in Piney Peaks, bringing more tourism to the small, holiday themed town. Ves is in town to look over his Aunt Maeve's home and belongings, that he received upon her death. Thing it, her home is the main location for the movie. The two have a unique meet cute. Ves has sworn off any sort of romance during the holidays, but Elisha and the fine folks of the town smooth the way for the two of them to hang out.… (mehr)

This rom/com Christmas tale is a fluffy, quick read. And while other reviews compare it to a Hallmark movie, it would never be shown on their station - too spicy! The end is a giveaway from the beginning. The main characters are at first repulsed by each other, but, of course, it doesn’t take long for that weak spark between them to ignite. There is not a lot a plot in the novel and the characters are mostly underdeveloped. Reading this is not exactly a bad way to spend a few hours, but there are better Christmas novels out there.… (mehr)
