Very good. This is an expansion and updating of the late Victorian [b: Famous Women of the Reformed Church|2183385|Famous Women of the Reformed Church|James Isaac Good|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1347500027s/2183385.jpg|2189078], and it is well researched. I liked seeing the variety of contexts and callings in which these women served.

The conclusion is excellent, too. A few favorite lines:

"A sensitivity to providential directives and a trust that can translate to new circumstances mark many in the cloud of witnesses. If, as Christian women, faith is THE identifying mark in our lives, then the shift of other roles and identities will not stop our fruitfulness; it will simply redirect it."

And:

"One of the ways we can tell that the love of godly husbands strengthened instead of coddled or oppressed these women is how they dealt with widowhood; a good marriage equipped them for fruitfulness despite grief."… (mehr)
