Jerry Voorhis (1901–1984)

The author was a five-term Congressman from California who was defeated by Richard Nixon in 1946--the first time Nixon used "red-baiting" as an election trick. During a writing career spanning a half-century, Voorhis penned several books. Following his defeat by Nixon, he retired from politics and worked for almost twenty years as an executive in the cooperative movement. This book is part autobiography and part theological reflection.

Interesting as being the political autobiography of the ciongressman defeated by Richard M. Nixon at the begining of his career. Shows a suspicion of the Federal Reserve now held by many conservatives.
