Modern colored pencil von Chelsea Ward
Some of the beginning is a bit overly basic (twice there's a simple rundown of oil vs wax vs watercolor pencils), but overall I found this a pretty decent book. I particularly like that it has a lot of in-process photos of a number of different pieces (various objects, plants, and animals) from the start through final burnishing/shading stages, as shading is one of the hardest things to get right (in my opinion), so the more examples the better.

I really enjoyed this book! It shows a variety of art techniques, tips, and instructions. It covers animals, plants, architecture, and so much more. It also has some step-by-step in there too. It covers color and black and white. Nothing is really in depth or the book would be gigantic but it covers enough to give the reader a taste and a bit of knowledge of each area. I was very pleased with the book. I found it helpful in my budding hobby.… (mehr)
