Trevor Watson

The British photographer Trevor Watson is perhaps better known for his celebtration of the female rear quarters in the superb, larger 2000 volume 'Cheek!', but 'Girls Behaving Badly' is a good introduction to his photographic art. This, too, is monochrome, but both skillfully explore the richness in texture possible in the genre, ideally suited to the curved perfection of a woman's curves. I always find it a little jarring to see words like 'badly' applied to the perfectly innocent loving acts of young female couples, but this is a minor point, and such acts are beautifully portrayed here. Hints at leather fetishism and BDSM can be seen here, although the emphasis is on simple acts of attraction and arousal. An excellent collection, indeed.… (mehr)
