Being around Jack as he stumbles through his challenges is not beneficial to your health. He loses or damages several allies as he carries out his sort of spy/special force activities for the Royal Navy.

Another secret mission for the king was to recover gold from a stranded French ship. They are successful but few survive.

Jack’s training exercise serves a very different purpose in the Major’s plan. Survival is a question but he manages and moves on.

Jack, a teenage poacher, and illiterate would not seem a likely candidate for commissioning in the HMS. However, his skill set and audacious demeanor seem to make him a suitable candidate for recruitment by the mysterious Major. I look forward to Jack’s next adventure.
