Martha is the protagonist for the story, she is having a new baby sister which is topic amongst her friend, Sam. Sam and Martha are playmates and are anxious for Martha's baby sister to come. Sam and Martha started to plan for the baby's arrival by planning a puppet show, a band, and finally nice clothes. When she does come in a bundle, they try to train her, but in vain she is too small. She then complains to her mom who replies it takes time for the baby to develop. As the baby slowly becomes a toddler, Martha and Sam start to entertain her again, and she starts to finally respond. A Baby Just like Me is a book about a little girl named Martha that is about to have a new baby sister. She tells her friend Sam all about it at their sleepover. They get so excited that they will have someone new to play with. When the baby came home they were surprised at how small she was, and that she couldn’t do anything. So they waited for the baby to grow and she didn’t change much. Finally Martha started to get annoyed because her mommy was spending all her time with the baby.
