I loved this book! It literally changed my life! This book is very practical. There is a free workbook that you can download which I loved. As you read the book you work through the exercises that help you prioritize the things in your life and work through your schedule. Before reading this book I was feeling very overwhelmed. I had long to-do lists everyday that I wasn't finishing. I didn't have time to do devotions and I felt like I was always behind. Reading this book helped me to prioritize what was most important to me. It helped me to create a new schedule step by step. It helped me to prioritize my to-do list. Instead of one big list I now have a must do, should do and want to do. I had someone in my literary club ask if the changes were sustainable. It's been a year since I finished the book and I still feel very balanced in my life. I finish my must do list almost every day and that's after taking an hour out of my day for devotions. So I have less time but I'm accomplishing more. I'm much more focused and spend less time on the time wasters that I identified while working through the workbook. I would highly recommend this book to everyone!
This book was reviewed on The Literary Club Podcast (twice, because it's so good!)

"Balance isn't about something you do . . . It is being confident in who you are, the life you are creating and the choices you are making."

This is not the kind of time management book that will guilt trip you for not using every second towards a goal. Instead, it recognizes that no one can ever dedicate equal amounts of time to every area of their lives; instead, different seasons will require a focus on different priorities. Each chapter ends with journaling questions to help you find clarity and answers in your own life. She also provides a free workbook on her website. I encourage you to follow the journaling prompts and download the workbook. These actions will take this book from a nice, affirming read to a life-changing experience.

Wright emphasizes that balance starts with clarity on your purpose and calling. When you decide who you want to be, it will become clear what matters most. Then, from there, you can prioritize your goals. She shares some insightful tips on how to stop doing the things that do not matter, such as making other peoples' problems your problem. We don't have to provide the solution for everyone. Then we can create a schedule that focuses on the things that matter most and protect that time. Wright encourages us to ask ourselves questions before making a commitment: Can I do it? Is this a priority for me right now? What will I not be able to do if I do this? How will this affect my family? Will I still want to do it when the time to fulfill the commitment arrives? These questions will help us only say yes to the right opportunities and needs. Wright points out that how we spend our time defines who we are. Balance is achieved when we feel good about our time investment.

I really dug into the first few chapters on this. I wrote out the mission statement and the vision I had a lot of growth of my business. A few months later I had the number of students I had written AND the studio space I had written out. I truly believe that if you get clear enough to write out your goals that it helps you to accomplish them. I'm not doing that same thing anymore, however, it's awesome that I can see where I wrote out the goal from before. As far as actual business information I don't need to keep the book to know those things - what I received and benefited from were the emotional/spiritual intentions and focus. At one time I was in Christy's business academy when it was a monthly fee and she responded to my question about raising prices and I did it. Sometimes we need someone's permission and encouragement to do what we know we need to do. Women, especially, can be made to feel guilty and yucky in business when they don't need to and she helped me with that. I'm passing this book on because I don't need it anymore, but it did help me.… (mehr)
