The Crisis: A British Defense of American Rights… von Neil L York
A primary source during the American Revolution printed in London lasting from 1775 until September 1776. The 91 articles used impassioned speech to declare Lord North's ministry as avaricious & power mad which at first was nearly halted because of the sharp language toward the government of the time. After 2 attempts, the government gave up the fight. The articles continued uninterrupted until the editors gave up the fight failing to gin up opposition to Lord North's ministry. It was only 5 years later that the opposition in Parliament that finally coalesced after 2 disastrous military campaigns forced Lord North's government to resign leading to William Pitt the Younger's ministry.… (mehr)
