- In 2003 the BBC conducted a massive survey to find out what "The UK's Best Loved Book" would be - the 100 books in this "library" are the top ones they list on their website.
Their website is no longer updated and doesn't have a lot of information about the methodology, although it does say "Three quarters of a million votes were received by the end of the series." - Über mich
- I am in no way associated with BBC or the Big Read project. It ended in 2003, and as they note on their website, it is not an ongoing project. But I wanted to play with the top 100 books list they finally came up with and decided to take advantage of LibraryThing's tools and toys to do so... feel free to play around with me (if you have ideas for other things we could do with this, send me a message).
