My library is American history prior to, during and after the Civil War.

I retired after a career in public television and public radio, starting my junior year at the Honors College at the University of South Carolina where I earned double majors in journalism and history, being selected for Phi Beta Kappa.

In Myrtle Beach, SC I worked in our hometown radio station in high school.

As a producer in public broadcasting I had opportunities to produce international documentaries in 18 nations, including China in 1980.
