Über mich
I am a native Texan and proud of it. My family's heritage in the state predates the American Civil War when they came to Texas on horses and in covered wagons to homestead the land. One of my great grandparents was a Native American Blackfoot, a genetic fact that some believe explains my intolerance for injustice and hard liquor. My daughter was even awarded a college scholarship a few years back by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the oldest patriotic women’s organization in Texas. The Wright brothers of Kitty Hawk, President Grover Cleveland, and General Robert E. Lee are all listed in our family tree.

After graduating from high school in 1970, I went to college to pursue the career goal of improving the state’s mental health care system and completed a science degree from the University of Houston in 1978.

Since my retirement in 2007, I have traveled in the U.S., Mexico and Europe while researching ancient biblical mysteries and wrote the controversial book, "Elohim": (Ancient Science Fiction or Biblical God?). It offers an unconventional explanation of mankind's origins and biblical literature based upon recent translations of 5,000 year-old Sumerian texts that predate the Bible.

In my published autobiography, High Times and Rough Rides of a Bipolar Addict, I have painstakingly depicted through my life story how my undiagnosed bipolar disorder led to mistreatment by mental health professionals that was followed by years of torment, confusion, and resentment. The front page Dallas Morning News article entitled "Youth Who Defended 'Pot' Is Committed" is reprinted in its entirety. This book is a must for anyone who has a family member struggling with drug or alcohol abuse.

My latest book, An American Holocaust: The Story of Lataine's Ring, details events of the worst public school tragedy in U.S. history. This upcoming March 18th will mark the 75th anniversary date of the London School explosion. My mother's cousin and childhood playmate, Lataine McQuaid, was killed in that catastrophe. An interview with my mother recalling events of that time is posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEz9B_GUsmg .

My future plans include continuing to write, another trip to Europe this spring and the release of the companion book that I wrote for a movie project called London Texas. It was tentatively scheduled to open in theaters in 2012, but that now seems highly unlikely.

I welcome any great ideas you may have for another book. Just for fun, I can think of nothing more enticing or exotic than to take in the splendor of a great Mayan Temple complex on December 21st when the ancient Mayan calendar begins anew. Hopefully, I will make that journey this year. Perhaps you will join me on that quest.
