- Über meine Bibliothek
- I started keeping track of the books I read at the beginning of 2003. My 'library' here is only those books (they don't actually reside on my shelves as they have been donated to the local library). My actual library consists of many field guides and a bunch of books waiting-to-be-read. I'm not much of a book collector. Once I read the book, I generally donate it to the library or give it to a friend.
I didn't worry about which edition I read, just picked the first one on the list when I searched. - Über mich
- Reader, kayaker, bird watcher, political junky, 50s, long-term relationship (we figure we'll get married when gays/lesbians finally can too).
Two stories to illustrate my long-term and hopeless addition to reading:
1. When I was a kid, I would get to reading and tune out the world. My family discovered that if they told me dinner was ready, there was no response. If they announced 'Salad!', however, I would come running. Not sure if the reading, or the fact that I like a good green salad so much I was willing to interrupt my book makes me the more eccentric.
2. When my grandparents retired to South Carolina, all the uncles/aunts/cousins helped them move. Once the grandparents were installed in the new house, we spent a few days exploring the area. One day, I was in the camper reading and the entire clan (15-20 people) left to go sightseeing. I never realized they were gone until they came back looking for me a half hour later. - Ort
