Über meine Bibliothek
Our collection is composed of two distinct, interlocking parts. The first is a resource library dealing with the history of French-Canadian and Franco-American settlement, life and culture in eastern Canada and the northeast US, particularly New York state, Vermont and the province of Quebec; the second is local history, genealogy and resources to do with northern New York, the Champlain Valley, and the Adirondack region, particularly Clinton County and the Town and Village of Champlain, where we are located.
Über mich
Hi! We are a local history exhibit, archival collection and Franco-American heritage library in the 1880 First National Bank building in Champlain, NY, on the shores of Lake Champlain just south of the US-Canadian border. We are dedicated to preserving the Village and Town of Champlain's History through our collections and promoting awareness of the French Settlement in New York, Vermont and Quebec, and memorializing Samuel de Champlain's exploration of Lake Champlain and the surrounding region.
