- Über meine Bibliothek
- My library is eclectic and I most definitely do not have time to include all my books here. I'm going to try and include the books I'm reading as I read them †. We'll see how it goes.
I own a lot of paper books, but lately I'm mostly reading ebooks. This means that the editions, ISBN, etc of the books on my library won't be accurate.
† In the past I have obviously failed to do this. On the other hand, since I discovered the scanning ability of the LibraryThing app, I have been including a lot of my paper books here, even those I have not read. But I still have a long way to go to include them all. Thus, It is my ebook list that is the most incomplete. - Über mich
- I read Portuguese, Spanish, and French fluently, and I have even read books in German and Italian in the past, but most of my reading is done in English.
I prefer the classics and I use Project Gutenberg a lot, but I do read modern literature also.
Even if I most definitely prefer "high-brow" books, I end up reading a lot of "not-so-good" books, simply because I do a lot of my reading after a long day at work and I find that I'm often too tired to read my favourite authors and books. This is the only reason I still have quite a lot of Virginia Woolf, Joseph Conrad or Anton Chekhov to read.
Of course, if I ever write reviews, I'll tend to be rough on modern writers. After all, no matter how much I appreciate Ian McEwan, I always end up thinking that I would be better reading one of those Virginia Woolf's books I haven't read yet. - Wird gerade gelesen
