I liked the fact that it is written about his young life too because I did not know anything about Albert Einstein besides being a genius. Classroom Extension Ideas: Give the students a piece of paper and have them draw Albert Einstein. Have the students write about the part of Albert's life that interested them the most. Who is Albert Einstein is a engaging book going through his life. Most people only know Albert Einstein for his wild hair and being labeled as a genius. This book goes through his life as a young child up into his adulthood talking about things that most individuals wouldn't know about Einstein the scientist. This book tells the life of Albert Einstein one of the worlds most known if no the most known scientist. This biography is written in a very kid friendly way so it is easy for children to understand all of Einsteins discoveries and inventions. If I was a science or history teacher I would have my students read this book just to get them to understand more about one of the greatest minds there ever was, I highly recommend this book. I did not really enjoy this book because it is a nonfiction. It has no action, no excitement, not anything that would get you hooked on this. This is a great book though if you wanted to find out about his life. It highlights the most important parts of his life. Einstein was born in Berlin, Germany, but died in America (Princeton, New Jersey) as an American citizen. He was Jewish and therefore hated the Nazis. He liked Switzerland and moved there in 1895. He thought the people were kind. He was a pacifist and greatly argued against using the atomic bomb as a weapon. At the age of thirteen, he published his first scientific paper. He was popular in America, but the Nazis detested him and vandalized his German home. Albert Einstein was expelled from his high school right before he moved to Switzerland, in 1895. He was married first to Mileva, a brilliant scientist. They had two sons and then divorced. Some have noted that his most amazing achievements happened during his marriage and that Mileva may have had more to do with his success than is recorded. He became a professor of physics at many universities. He married his cousin (ew) in January 1906. Albert Einstein actually did look like a mad scientist with messy hair and partially buttoned clothing. Fun fact; he only buttoned the top button of his coat. He would even forget to eat and sleep and bath! He claimed spending time on those things distracted him from thinking. Reading this was fast, and I learned a lot in a little time. When Einstein died, he had his brain preserved, but the rest of his body cremated. Scientists don't think his brain is that different from other brains but saw that it was larger in some parts. Who Was Albert Einstein? by Jess M. Brallier is a terrific book that tells all about his personal life not only his professional life. It tells it in a way that makes this genius a normal guy that is a lovable person from a child to the end. Great job. Lots of great sketches and over 100 pages of interesting info packed in this book. Who was Albert Einstein was a very interesting book about of course, Albert Einstein. Albert was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany. When he was a child his father worked with his brother and they had a buisness that sold batteries, generator, and wire and one thing Albert was fascinated by is is electricity. Albert thought electricity was amazing because it was invisible yet has so much power and is so dangerous. Albert also loved the compass his father gave him because no matter what he did the needle always pointed north. Albert loved his elementary school but when it came time for his high school he hated it and after his family left to move to Italy he had to stay to finish high school he ended up getting expelled. While he was in Italy he took a lot of time to think to himself and finally came up with a plan he went to Switzerland to finish highschool and go to college to study physics and he liked Switzerland so much he became a citizen. He met his wife in college a brilliant scientist named Mileva Maric who Albert would have two kids with Hans Albert and Eduard Einstein. Albert also lived through many major events such as WW1, WW2 which he was a huge enemy of the nazis and had a death warrant put on him many times. Also during WW2 he personally wrote to the president that they build the atom bomb before the nazis did. And one of Alberts theories that put him on the charts that could only be proven during a total eclipse is his theory that light bends as it travels and it was proven correct. Einstein also had a divorce with Maric and ended up remarrying to his cousin Elsa. Einstein moved to America during 1933 and unfortunately Elsa died in 1936. Albert's sister Maja came to live with him in the states and in 1951 she passed away. And on Agust 18, 1955 Albert Einstein passed away in the Princeton hospital in New Jersey I personally thought that this book about Albert Einstein was very interesting and it taught me more than I really knew. I never knew much about Albert so to learn so much in just one book it really amazed me and opened my eyes on his life he wasn't just some genius he was caring and was kind to people as well as he didn't care for war he was a super peaceful person. I also never knew that he was Jewish and that he was once offered to be the president of Israel. Albert truly hated wars because thing that I would've never known is that his last letter that he ever wrote was to all countries asking them to get rid of all there atomic weapons because Albert says one of the greatest mistakes he ever made in his life was asking that they hurry up the production of the atom bomb which I beileve is true war is a terrible thing and I agree with Albert on that |
