I´ve just finished Purge by Sofi Oksanen. A good and terrible read. Not very old, but I bought it in the beginning of 2010 and also started to read it, but then I let it rest until now.

I´m doing two oldies at the same time... I´m reading The Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse and listening to The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I like them both, but of course Hesse is a lot more demanding than Stockett. I like The Help but finds it now a little tiny bit boring. Well, I´ll write a review when I´m done!

At last! I´m tempted to yell. I´ve finished The Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse. That´s my second oldie. I will post a review on the group blog (www.37in11.blogspot.com) tonight. I can just say I´m glad I read it...

Sounds a fascinating book, Amsa but a heavy one! Well done for getting it finished- and reviewed!

My next oldie is not as old as the former. I´ve read Susan Hills´s The Mist in the Mirror. A lovely old fashioned ghost story. I bought the book around the en of summer, so it does count as oldie. I felt I needed something easy and something I new I would enjoy.

I´ve just finished the first of Fred Vargas Adamsbergs series The chalk circle man. I can´t remember when I mooched it, but it was when I realised I hadn´t read the first in the series. It was quite ok but not as good as I expected.
I also see that I haven´t posted a message about finishing Hilary Mantels Wolf Hall

My next oldie - nr 6 - is a novel by a swedish author Bengt Ohlsson Kolka. It is about a girl moving from Latvia to Great Britain and her somewhat disturbed feelings. I liked it the first half but then it got quite boring. It didn´t keep what it promised.

You are doing well, Amsa. I'm doing so badly with my reading (mostly new books and library books) that I'm embarrassed to record the few oldies that I've read. There have been some though so I really should go and reunite myself with my thread!

Anne-Marie: Half a Yellow Sun has been on my shelf, too. I'm glad to hear you liked it. Maybe that will give me impetus to get to it.
