I was very excited to learn that a CD with much of the music discussed in the book was produced at Anne's request (you can find it at CDBaby.com). I worried that it might be kind of hokie or childish. I should not have, Tania Opland and Mike Freeman are fantastic musicians and did a wonderful job. The music is very authentic. I expected it to be kind of middle age folk music and that is pretty much what the did. I really like both Robinton's Dream and The Question Song / Star Stone. If anyone has this music I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.

I've had it for... Oh I have no idea how many years.. whenever it first came out is when I got it. I love it. Like you, I thought it was very well done. I think the only thing I wished could have happened was to have had more singers instead of the same singer always in echo to make it sound like it was a chorus. Still, it's just beautiful.

Huh, now that's interesting. The last I heard, Dragonflight will start to be filmed in 2013, so I wonder if those songs might possibly in the movies, if of course, they go throught with it. I've noticed that songs are very important in the whole Pern series.

I have mixed feelings about the movie. I love movies but inevitably when I see a movie about a book I have read I am disappointed. The Eragon movie for example was a travesty. I hope they do a good job with Dragon flight if they really do it.

Agreed. Actually, if I have never read Eragon, the movie would probably be one of my favorites of all time. Visually, it was a success, otherwise, a complete flop. They have to do good with Dragoflight, at least visually, and I think the director/movie company bought the rights to the whole series, so excpect sequels if the first one is a success! The books always get more attention after they are made into movie/TV show, so I'm wondering how much more popular they will get?

They were going to do a TV show for a while.... We can see where /that/ got to. I don't think I mind leaving Pern as a book series. Way too many things to get wrong when thrown into a movie or television format. Don't ruin it.

Well if that's the case, we know which director to not pay attention to in the future, right?
