Murder She Wrote: Trick or Treachery is boring me. I am pushing myself. I'm on page 125, another 131 pages to go. This just isn't my type of book.

Finally finished Murder She Wrote. The story did start to pickup since my last post. Still not a book I would pick up again to read.

Fast Track doesnt seem like a book I'm going to like. I am about 100 pages in (274 total pages) and still have no idea which characters are on which team. I may finish reading it before the years is out only because I have it.

I guess I am not really into espionage or Mission Impossible type book. I guess that is why I watch Castle instead of CSI lol.

6. The Darkest Evening of the Year - Dean Koontz (4/13/12 - 5/7/12)

As almost always, a great story.

A woman, a man, a "magical" dog.

A murderer, a murderess...a few more murderers.

A little girl needing rescue.

Makes for a beautiful ending.

COMPLETED: The Summerhouse

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! If I had the opportunity to have an alternate view of my life and still get a choice of which life I'd take, I'd do it just to see.

These women's lives before the time travel seemed unbearable. For one in particular, I'm surprised she didn't "accidentally" kill her husband.

Definitely a book for someone who LOVES books with happy endings.

Return to Summerhouse- Jude Deveraux

Just as wonderful as the first one. Is there a third? I love what happens when these women go to the Summerhouse. You get to go back and fix your life, fix that one minor mistake that could make your life better.

Silver Angel - Joanna Lindsey

A little long winded. I don't think it needed to be 400+ pages, even with the cultural background information.

Overall another good one by Joanna.

Zahrah the Windseeker - Nnedi Okorafor (9/12/12 - 9/26/12)

I loved, loved, loved this story. This young, timid girl goes through a rough and tumble jungle one a 3 week journey to save a friend. She comes out a new brave young lady. Once ashamed of her dada locs and wanting to be normal, her best (and only) friends pushes her to be more outgoing, fearless. They venture to the forbidden jungle for Zahrah to practice her talents when her friend takes ill from a snake bite and falls into a coma.

The only thing that can save him is an antidote made from an egg only found in the forbidden jungle. The doctors tell the parents that they will keep the young man comfortable until he dies because NO ONE will venture into the forest for fear of death.

I enjoyed following Zahrah through the jungle, meeting the various creatures (and I like how the author acknowledges the possibility of Zahrah get her menses on the journey - movies never do that lol).

Wonderful book of self discovery. Passing this onto my girls. HIGHLY recommended.
