i started this thread because it incorporates everything in fiction (and non-fiction).
It also really makes one think about what 10 books he would select on a desert island (to be read and read again and again).
l. Crime and Punishment. Feodor Doestevskii (sp).
2. Siddharta. Herman Hesse.
3. The Girl, the Gold Watch, and Everything. John D. MacDonald.
4. Extracts from Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven. Mark Twain.
5. The triology of "Paradiso" "Purgatorio" and "the Inferno." Dante.
6. Hamlet. William Shakespeare.
7. Please Write for Details. John D. MacDonald.
8. Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen.
9. The King James Versionof the Bible. Assorted authors.
10. Pamela. Livingstone.
Wow! It sure does make one think to make such a list, does it not?
