Need some help

I need to come up with a topic for my paper in my final history class to complete my Bachelors. I was thinking of Dolley Madison and her heroic efforts during the War of 1812. I'm open to other suggestions or to any books that you think would help me in my research of her.

As it so happens, there have been three biographies of Dolley Madison published fairly recently:

Dolley Madison: The Problem of National Unity by Catherine Allgor
Strength and Honor: The Life of Dolley Madison by Richard N. Cote
Dolley Madison by Paul M. Zall

Please remember that for a college level paper the most useful part of secondary sources such as those listed is the bibliography and footnotes that will point you to the primary sources they looked at.

Memoirs and Letters of Dolly Madison was published in 1896 but I can not find it listed on LT. http://books.google.com.proxy.lib.muohio.edu/books?id=5qgZAAAAYAAJ&printsec=...
It is available on Google books and, I think, consisted of her writings.

#4-thanks! Yes I do already know that. I was just looking for some suggestions. I generally like to read about the topic as Im writing the paper. Sometimes, Im able to include information that I may not have found by looking at primary sources. I do have to include both with my paper! have a great day!

Rita Mae Brown wrote a historical fiction book Dolley: A Novel of Dolley Madison In Love and War. It might be worthwhile to check her primary sources.
