Favorite form

OKay, we had a discussion about favorite books. Anyone else besides me have a favorite form/model? I've already stated that I love the moth from "origami for the Enthusiast". The hardback book and cover from the "Omnibus" is also a fav. The one piece jack in the box is another I love (can't remember the book at the moment) but I don't do that one quiet as often because it requires a specials shape of paper and it take a very large sheet to do it.

I'm currently doing the 1,000 cranes thing, so, by the end of it all, I could probably tell you the crane will NOT be my favorite. I am going to play with a few new ones during my downtime, so I may fall in love with one today! I'll let you know.

My fav model to fold regularly is the crane. I've had an entire gathering of my girlfriend friends and friends of friends asking me how to fold one. 'Twas a fun afternoon, sitting in a london park, in the sunshine teaching people to fold.

I also love the octagonal box (Fuse, I think) but I only fold something like that infrequently.

I have a bit of a fixation on the rose from Origami for the Connoisseur - it's so lovely and 3D, especially when done with soft-ish paper, even though it comes out a bit square. I haven't been able to do Kasahara's more tricky one, though.

Growing up I loved Origami and normally spent a great deal of time hunched over a small piece of paper and a book. I have not plied my hand at anything complex in years, but I will never forget how to fold a crane. I used to sit down and fold hundreds of them and store them in origami boxes. You know, the whole thousand cranes for a wish thing had me going as a little kid. Now I fold cranes whenever I have a small scrap of paper in my hands that I can easily make square. If its shiney and foily, double bonus because I always really liked metallic paper.
