I finished Lover Eternal last night, after taking a reading break for a few days. I'm not sure what's up next. I've got Hope Tarr's Enslaved but might not be in the mood for another heavy hitter.

I'll be starting Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning today.

BTW-Am I the only one having trouble getting author touchstones to work?

I finished Brenda Novak's trilogy & started Die For Me by Karen Rose.

I'm nearing the end of The Viscount Who Loved Me, and not sure what's up next. I just got a ton of books in.

Some Shakespearean young adult stuff, some painting inspired historical stuff, a Jane Austen choose your own adventure book (I couldn't resist)...

Now I just have to decide what to read next...

Gave the Francesca Cahill books a try with the first, Deadly Love. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be on the lookout for more. Although, Fran could be a tad shriekish, "crying out" so much.

Hey, Gracer. I like the Cahill books, too, much more than Brenda Joyce's deWarrenne books. It's almost as if two different people write them.

I went back and read The Raven Prince and The Leopard Prince again before diving into Elizabeth Hoyt's latest, The Serpent Prince. I LOVE these books. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for complex, senuous, and very well-written historical romance. She continues to amaze me.

Finished Lake in the Clouds over the weekend. I have to say that i didn't enjoy it as much as the first two, but it was still good.

Started and finished The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt last night. I liked that the hero and heroine were not these amazing looking people, both plain and average looking. The sex scenes were also some of the hottest I've read!!

I was checking out Elizabeth Hoyt's blog on amazon (thanks to CC's recommendation!) and saw she is having a contest to win the set of her her books with The Raven Prince, The Leopard Prince and the Serpent Prince. The books sound very good so I went over and entered. Even if I don't win I still plan to read them.

I just finished The Sinful Nights of a Nobleman my first Jillian Hunter, not a lot of substance, but entertaining nonetheless. I'll have to go back and read about the rest of the siblings.

Now I've started Once a Thief, a mystery and another new to me author.

I am reading "Master of Dragons" by Angela Knight this week. It is part of her Mageverse series. If you are an ebook fan, you may know this author from Ellorascave.com (forgive my spelling).

Ms. Knight is into her passionate scenes so if you do not like explicit then you may not enjoy her.

Message 2: Jenson_AKA_DL: How did you like DarkFever? I am just getting into the Highlander series and was wondering how if the Fever series is a good bet.

I am going to pick up more Cahill books if I spot them at UBS, but not going to seek them out at list price.

I just finished Diamond Rain. It is an interesting premise, where the h/h are two fireworks professionals competing for a contract in the 1890s to celebrate the queen's jubilee. They have a love/hate relationship, and if you don't mind my saying so, fireworks fly! I can't remember if we had talked about it on LT or if I came across it on some other board, but I had it wishlisted for awhile, got it through PBS, and finally made my way through. Great read if you can find it, although I think it is not widely available.

Lori,

DarkFever was good, though not too romancy, yet. According to her website this will be more of a series with the same characters then her usual one couple per book (though a romance will develop eventually).

But I quite enjoyed it and can't wait for BloodFever to come out in October.

P.S. I love her Highlander series, Kiss of the Highlander, Dark Highlander, and Immortal Highlander being my favorites, though I love them all!

Sorry, Jen, I didn't mean to usurp your answer!!

Gracer, Diamond Rain sounds interesting! I'm putting it on my wish list, thanks!

>10 LoriTori: What Ilithyia said (no problem with the usurption LOL). It does seem as though there is definite romance potential for the future. It was still a really good book even without the romance.

Tonight I'll be starting the first Blood Ties book by Tanya Huff. Can't remember what the title of it is.

Sleeping Over by Stacey Ballis. I'm okay with it so far, but not thrilled. I just finished Size 14 Is Not Fat, Either, which I loved - Meg Cabot is a lot of fun!

Read The Pirate Prince and loved it. Lazar is such a tortured hero! I've been meaning to read it, as it's the beginning of the Ascension trilogy that I read out of order.

Also cruised through Sophia Nash's A Dangerous Beauty and enjoyed the wit along with the very serious storyline of a woman with a ruined reputation. If you haven't read it, give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I just finished A Caress of Twilight by Laurell K. Hamilton. I don't want to offend anyone who likes her, so I'm just going to say "ick!"

On the other hand, I cleansed my reading palette with a nice pseudo Jane Austen dose in Amanda Grange's Mr Knightley's Diary which was simple but sweet.

Finished Rules of Surrender by Christina Dodd and didn't like it as much as I hoped. Same parts got on my nerves. I guess I'd rate it with 3 stars.

Undiceded what I'll start next.

Finally got my hands on Laura Lee Guhrke's And Then He Kissed Her! Well worth the DIK rating! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've decided I like the possibilities in books set in the Victorian period. It's rather nice to see some more variety in professions and what heroines are able to do.

Gracer, thanks for recommending A Dangerous Beauty. One more for my wish list!

Julia, I hope you'll give the other books in the Governess series a chance, because Dodd saved the best for last. The Rules of Attraction is Hannah's story. I thought it was wonderful.

I am reading Stephanie Laurens' newest Bastion Club book, Beyond Seduction, Gervase's story. I still can't get over how much better these books are than Laurens' Cynster novels.

I also FINALLY have Lori Foster's Casey, the final Buckhorn Brothers book, to read! This is like the holy grail of Foster books, and up to now, I have been unwilling to pay $30-40 for an old paperback. But it has finally been re-released. If anyone else has been looking for it, you can find it along with Caught In The Act under the title Enticing.

I just got a few new books today to read.

Forbidden Love by Karen Robards
You Only love twice by Elizabeth Thornton
A Rogue's Proposal by Stephanie Laurens

I am now reading No Humans Involved by Kelley Armstrong. Very excited to finally get to see what will happen with Jaime and Jeremy!

I got The Harlequin in from the library today as well as Red-hot Reunion by Bella Andre. So those are next on my list.

I have a bunch of the Bastion Club books as well, and I think I've only read maybe one of them. I did enjoy the Cynsters, but they got very repetitive after awhile.

I am really not sure what to read next. Hmmm...hopefully some tbr will jump out at me. I'll keep you posted.

I did find the second Francesca Cahill book at Goodwill today. Maybe that one. Has anyone else's Goodwill book prices gone up? I had sticker shock! Usually they are .99 but now they range mostly from 1.49 up to 4.99 for a paperback!

CC, it would be really bad if I gave up her books that easily, since I have most of her books still in my tbr pile.

I read Rules of Engagement out of order so Rules of Attraction is the next book I'm going to read.

Also finished Drive me crazy by new to me author Kate Angell. It was funny and entertaining, featuring a classic car race, a car possed be the ghost of the heroines aunt. I'm glad I picked her up and look forward to her other books.

I just finished Come the Spring by Julie Garwood. I hadn't read any of the Clayborne series and picked up For the Roses at the library sale and was hooked. I checked the rose trilogy out of the library and of course had to finish with Come the Spring. Good enough for me to read them all within the last 10 days and I am not crazy about westerns!

And I read High Noon this week too. I enjoyed it but it is quite violent.

I started Devil May Cry by Sherrilyn Kenyon yesterday and am about halfway through now. I'm really enjoying this much more than the last couple I've read by her.

I agree gracer. Victorians are usually less fluffy than a standard Regency.

I've just finished Kat Martin's Midnight Rider and Margo Maguire's The Bride Hunt. I enjoyed the former quite a bit as I love the mid-19th Century Spanish-California settings. I was disappointed with the Maguire. I've heard good things about her but I didn't care for it at all. I haven't read a good Medieval in months.

I just started Elusive Passion, an old Kathryn Smith. She is one of my favorites and I'm already enjoying it.

gracer - I have The Pirate Prince in my TBR pile, but can't start it yet because I haven't gotten ahold of the other 2 books in the trilogy. I'd hate to read it and then not have the next one on hand to pick up immediately after. I gotta have the instant gratification I guess!

DL - I have to wait for Devil May Cry to come out in paperback. :( I keep eyeing it longingly at the bookstore. Be sure and let us know what you think of it, though - without giving too much away of course ;)

I understand, Katybear. I hope you find the other two in the trilogy soon.
