What was your final rating? Why?

I'll have to stay with 3.5. I'm glad that Monk is still with us and it ended well for Gray's parents...but it was just... too much.

I'm ending at 3.5. It was a good read but it was a slog as it dragged in too many places

I had gone to 3.75 but I'm also going to move down to 3.5. I like the series and really liked the last book so I hope this one is just an anomaly.

I’ll end wih a 3.5 but will round up to 4 on goodreads. Audio made the slow parts easier for me.

I was convinced this was going to end no higher than 3.75 for me, but the ending saved it - both Monk's novel SOS message and Susan's final trek to a place where the next level in human evolution is presumably lying in wait - all good sci-fi stuff.
Final score - 4.

Struggling with this one. Is it a thriller with a historical dimension or a scientific / environmental thriller. I felt this one struggled with its identity. Too much science in it, and too technical at times. This clutter made it a chore to get through. >6 Sergeirocks: Makes a good point about the ending. I didn’t not enjoy it but just lacking pace for me. Oh go on then, 3.75 rounded to 4. As Phineas T Barnum said, there’s one born every minute!

Overall rating 3.66. The lowest of the 4.
