I'm looking forward to The Fallen, The Cellist, and False Witness. I have had them all preordeed on Audible since the beginning of the year. I also am looking forward to Tell Me by Anne Frasier. I read the first one, Find Me and loved it.

You might like Find Me >1 Carol420:, if you haven't read it. (Convicted serial killer Benjamin Fisher has finally offered to lead San Bernardino detective Daniel Ellis to the isolated graves of his victims. One catch: he’ll only do it if FBI profiler Reni Fisher, his estranged daughter, accompanies them.)

>2 Olivermagnus: Find Me is on my hold list at the library. I think I'm #5 but they have 15 copies so I should get it long before the month is out. Did you sell your house in Holland? I'm going to miss you being in Michigan but I understand completely why you have to make this move. We're going to the Holland festival in August. I don't care so much about the festival but a local Irish group from up by Detroit...Blackthorn...are going to be playing at the Civic Center. It's been 15 months since I've seen Blackthorn so I'll take in part of the festival and see them.

>3 Carol420: Actually we changed our minds about selling. Daniel is still totally paralyzed on his right side but now that physical therapy is opening back up, he's shown some positive signs. My husband thinks he may not need us to be there as often as we think. Oliver and I can stay here all summer and he can fly back every 3-4 weeks. Then we will be in Arizona from October 1 - May 1.

We had so many people ask about the house, just from word of mouth. Everything is going within a few hours. Our neighbors sold their place earlier this year and had 17 over asking offers. The smart move is to sell, but we aren't that smart. We need to stay out of 119 temps this summer.

>4 Olivermagnus: You sound pretty smart to me! 119 could just about cook you for dinner:)

And still the Camilleri books keep coming... 👍

I've yet to try McCall Smith's Detective Varg series. And I'm a bit behind in Silva's series - only got as far as book 4, ☺️.

>6 Sergeirocks: The only thing I have read by Alexander McCall Smith was the Ladies Detective Society series. I think the Varg series is fairly new. I wonder if someone else is writing under Camilleri's name. This is the second one out since he dies.

>7 Carol420: I'm guessing Camilleri either had several already written, or perhaps his translator, Stephen Sartarelli, would have enough of a feel for the character to carry on with the series - but I think he'd get his name on the credits if that was the case.
Whatever the situation, I think the series needs (deserves) to be brought to a natural conclusion; Insp Montalbano is getting on a bit, he must be reaching retirement age, so (short of killing him off - nasty and unsatisfactory ending) a natural ending would presumably have been on the cards at some point? Maybe Camilleri wanted to make sure this happened on his terms...
