YA 70s/80s set in Greece under the Colonels

My Dad was a literature teacher and gave me this to read when I was a young teen. Female protagonists, political/ personal story. I enjoyed it, then forgot it, but now I have had the chance to visit Greece and I’d love to rediscover it. He has just died and I cannot ask him to remind me of the title. Can anyone help me please?
