I'm sure this isn't a surprise but I've been intimidated by big books for awhile. I used to inhale books like air, and especially with the same ease as breathing. But in the last few years, I've found it hard to commit to anything thicker than a finger or two... So I decided to just jump right in and crack open a big book. I read Bubblegum by Adam Levin and I am HOOKED on the depth and intensity such a big book brought to the table. I'm now planning to read Levin's other behemoth "The Instructions!"
Others biggies that I am going to attempt this year are:
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke
The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
Babel by R. F. Kuang
Any recs are appreciated!
