Howdy out there to all my fellow Nevadans! Figured it was high time to start a topic for our group and this was the perfect opportunity.

I live in Henderson, just out of Las Vegas. And currently? I'm reading Transfer of Power by Vince Flynn. Great book!

Hey everyone! I am a transplated Northeast Ohioan that has been living in Reno for about a year and a half. I really love the area and I enjoy living here. I'm currently reading Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. I love reading books about the amish culture and lifestyle, and so far this book is pretty good. I have read two other books by Picoult and am quickly becoming a fan.

I also just finished reading The Kindness of Strangers by Katrina Kittle. It was a pretty good book, but the subject matter (child molestation/abuse) is pretty disturbing and depressing. It could also be a bit more suspensful, but I think it's still worth reading.

Hello!

Yay! Nevadans!!!

I live in Northern Nevada and am currently reading "Julianne's Wish" by ... um, me. It is my 5th novel and I am in the editing/polishing/rewriting stage.

Hopefully I will get it submitted some time next month. Wish me luck!

Glad to find you guys!

I just joined LT and am enjoying it very much, but still a little confused about how to get the most from it. I probably will be a lurker most of the time, but this site seemed small and fairly simple. I live in Carson City (for 31 years) and love Nevada. I am currently reading three books: "behind the beautiful forevers" by Katherine Boo (an advanced readers edition from Book Browse); "The Egg and I" by Betty McDonald; and "Blue Highways" by William Least Heat Moon. They are all very different, but very good. I am attempting to read 104 books this year and also informally do the 50 States challenge. I am a geography nut.

Hello,
I live in Northern Nevada and from what I've seen this is a nice site. Currently I'm reading Web Style Guide by Patrick J. Lynch for school and The Winning Hand by Nora Roberts for fun.

Good Luck JoElle_Martin! What else have you written?

Nevadaannie, where would I look to find out more about the 50 states challenge?

Take care everyone.

Well, I just discovered LT thourgh an author in London, England, who asked me to read and write a review of his book.

I'm in Las Vegas, have recently published my first novel, (Marvin's) World of Deadheads, so at this point I'm not reading anything. Though, Anne Rice's The Wolf Gift is on my wish list. My taste in reading is pretty eclectic. I'm a Tolkein fan, a real fan of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books, prefer the Mayfair Witches series over the Vampire Chronicles, and, of course, I've read all the books connected to my name!

And...it appears that there's been no activity here since January - 11 months!! Where is everyone? ;-)

Can't believe I'd nearly forgotten about my account on this site! I live in Reno, and I'm currently reading way too many books... thanks to Kindle and the plethora of horribly written but oh-so-free-or-nearly-so novels out there. The books that I will definitely finish reading are: "Arab Folktales" by Inea Bushnaq, "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield, "The Masks of God: Primitive Mythology" by Joseph Campbell, and "Nordic Nights (The Alix Thorssen Mysteries)" by Lise McClendon.

I too would like to know what the 50 states challenge is... is that a challenge to visit each of the 50 states? Or possibly to read at least one book by an author from each of the 50 states? :)

Hi! I live in New Mexico now, but Nevada is and always will be home. Just got a Kindle, having a ball. Currently reading Beryl Markham's "West with the Night", a wonderfully written book. This lady has a way with words, moves me to tears and laughter at the same time. I hope you will let me stay in this group, even if I no longer live in Nevada!
