I'm just wondering if any of the rest of y'all have had problems with receiving NYRB ER titles quite late. I won No Tomorrow several months ago and it didn't arrive until after its release date, and now I'm having the same trouble with The True Deceiver, which was in the October batch and was released this week but still hasn't come. I checked the October ER "received" posting and it doesn't seem anyone has checked in with it.
I don't want to complain, but it just makes me a bit sad that I'm not getting these earlier so I can review them at a more opportune time.

That's odd. I received my review copy of The True Deceiver about three weeks ago. I didn't mention the fact on the ER thread, but I did read the book and post a review a couple of days before the release date.

I received True Deceiver about a month ago; already finished and reviewed it about two weeks ago. It's a wonderful book; I hope your copy reaches you.
I don't always post on the received thread.

Hi all. I think we've had this delivery problem in the past. And it's a bit of a mystery from my p.o.v. I think that LibraryThing gets the advance copies from our distributor, Random House. It could be that they release another batch closer to release date because the advance copies are then of less "utility" to the salespeople. We have to print pretty limited numbers in general because they're very expensive to produce, believe it or not.
