Hello everyone. I have a very special person to introduce who just joined. Remember my dear sweet librarian? Yeah, she is 'Libran' here on LT.

I moved from Cailfornia to Idaho...so I live in Idaho now. But I never saw any celebrities. haha. I know people always think that Californians surf and run into famous people all the time! I have never been to NJ. All I think about is that show JerseyShore(never seen it).

I understand about the actor/acress thing. I had a friend who came from California, and some random person asks her "Wow, you're from California? have you met (some acteress)?" And my friend gets really mad, saying, well, California is a huge state. Hollywood isn't exactly in my backyard. I was histerically laughing, because it reminded me of the book, when the California girl was asked who she had met....
I have never seen the Jersy Shore show either, so it is no use asking me about it. I do books, not movies.

My sister LOVED the series.And so she told me, when the book comes out, u read it first, then I will. Otherwist I will keep taking the book from her and she won't b able to read it......which will probably happen....

But I know she really likes it cause she said she might buy the series later.... aand we only get books that are a)classics, or b)books we both absoballyutely love.

I liked California better becuase I lived in a small town and now I dont. I dont do the whole city thing. haha.

I like small, quiet areas better too.Yangon, Myanmar used to be the capital when I lived there, but even then, life was quiet. Maybe the sity wasn't small, and in some areas of the city, it was really crowded, but it was a tranquil place. Look up "Inya Lake, Yangon, Myanmar" on a map. I lived a street away from its east bank. Just a couple of blocks away. ^^
Our family used to wake up at 4am on weekends and go walking at the lake's shore. Its funny, many ppl think 4 am is quite early,but there used to be lots of people walking, jogging, exercising, meditating at the banks of Inya Lake at the same time too.
!!!At this moment, it is 7:11 pm in Yangon, Myanmar. The news says that a fire started at 7 AM in a plaza, and the fire department is still trying to put out the fire. Its spreading. They think the fore started on the 4th floor, where all the medicines and medical alcohol and all that lovely flamable stuff is. Was.

Its pretty there. Four a.m is way early!!! haha
Well hopefully they get the fire out.
At this moment it is 9:20 in Vallecito, CA(where I used to live) and nothing is happening because nothing ever does! =)

Hopefully. But not neccessarily. With all those spirits and alcohol, and the cloth shops and the paint shops, and the gas tank on the roof, especially. And the area is a muslim-community area, and since the government dispises the muslims, and how they have prospered through the years, the gov. is going ot do nothing to help.

I JUST finished Mockingjay two days ago. I started the Hunger Games about a week and a half ago. It's been a wild and amazing ride!

what did you think about them?

I really enjoyed them. My favorite is Hunger Games out of the three with Mockingjay following behind. And can I say that the use of costumes and clothing was absolutely amazing? Because it's true.

You read Mockingjay before The Hunger Games?

I am new and I am a library aide who loved hunger games but is nervous that they are casting a movie!

I just joined this group today. I finished reading the series earlier this year, and I can't wait for the film. I originally wasn't too thrilled about Jennifer Lawrence being cast as Katniss, but according to Suzanne Collins herself, who sat in on the auditions, she believes Miss Lawrence is the only one who can do it. So we'll see what happens.

I joined today too. I loved the Hunger Games, I thought Catching Fire was ok, and I not done with Mockingjay. Happy Hunger Games!!!!!

Hello, my name is Cosmin and i've started reading The Hunger Games roughly 5 days ago, and today i've just finished Catching Fire. I can barely keep myself from starting Mockingjay since i am very eager, but i know i need just a short break :p It was quite randomly that i started reading it and the first book seemed to start a bit bland, with the old cat and all, but i ended up really liking it. The second book seemed to be on par with the first, until.... i got about halfway - at that point the andrenaline started rushing, that is the very moment President Snow announced who would be competing in the Quarter Quell. It completely took me by surprise.

I'm about to start Mockingjay and i guess my main worry is that after i finish it i'll have a really hard time finding another great read as this was - it set the standards incredibly high :D

Noes, i'm still on 'Mockingjay'. I put it aside to read 'Plato and a Platypus walk into a bar'. I think i read the Hunger Games trilogy too fast and i'm a little dizzy. I've heard Maze Runner mentioned in some places though.

how do you like mockingjay?

Fairly disappointing. It went on too much about poor Katniss's feelings and too little action in comparison. That's not to say her feelings were lost on me, but there was a point where it got too painful. The ending with President Snow was too short, i think. I would have liked maybe more than just a few lines of talk between Snow and Katniss. Clear up a few more details, instead she ends up killing Coin for God knows what reason other than she somehow thinks she's got it out for her.

I did like that she settled for Peeta, but hey, it was too painful to read all of Katniss's emotions. Painful because they seemed to echo my own insecurities and feelings. It left me with a feeling of emptiness.

By the way, Sarahy, i'll start reading Matched and Crossed now. It looks like there's a third book in the works, too. Maybe now after i finish them i'll be eager with anticipation of what happens next, since i can't immediatly pick up the third book and see how it ends :

Katniss killed Coin because she realized she was the same as Snow. She still wanted the Hunger Games to continue.

I guess that makes sense, but probably anyone else from 13 would have done the same. Thirteen seemed just as vengeful as the capitol and almost as tiranic, especially after the long years of deprivation. And, actually, Coin did put it to a vote, she didn't just force them to do it. Katniss herself voted 'Yes'.

By the way, a bit off-topic: is it wrong that i somehow imagine Coin as the comissioner from Batman? lol White hair, glasses, determined look :p

i think 13 would have followed any leader that kept them alive. idk why but they just seemed like little sheep to me. im not positve why katniss agreed to that. i might reread that part to check.

She knew that since she was not needed anymore as the "Mockingjay" if she voted no Coin would have had her killed. That is why both she and Haymitch voted yes. To give her more time to figure out what to do.

#126 some of the things you say make me upset, she obviously didn't shoot Coin for no reason, she could tell he was just as much a Dictator as Snow. She didn't "settle" for Peeta. Gales inventions might have killed her sister, I mean... Could anyone live with that?
