Hunger Games or Catching Fire?

I didnt like Catching Fire that much. I dont know why, I think because it didnt have to do with the 'games' and the fighting. Just wondering what you guys thought.

I liked Catching Fire better. It got more into the thick of things. More things at stake. Just my opinion tho.

But ppl, don't get ur hopes up. If it is average to the first 2 books, well, we don't want to become dissapointed.

I always seems that the first book is always the best and then they go slowly down hill.

Not necessarily. Perhaps it is like that with you because after the first book, you over-rate the series, and when you read the second book, since it isn't up to what you expected, you sort of seel as if it is worse than the first.

lol, its not a book. I mean, my favouries arealways changing. One minute it something, the next, i've found a book I like better.

Hmmm, that would be when Prim was chosen, and Katniss volunteers. I was like, how's Prim and her mom going to survive? How Gale going to hunt for both their families? What if Katniss dies??!! (At that point I didn't know it was a series. Only knew about the first book, and Suzanne Collins doesn't write like others. She might very well have had an extremely sad book, and killed Katniss off.)
You know, since Mockingjay's going to be the last book, Katniss might die in the third. NOT that I want her to, just trying to keep an open mind, so I don't get dissapointed, if, for example, she DOES die.

I hope, hope, hope she doesn't.

Probably when the games first start and they are all running for the weapons. It was a good scene(exciting) but pretty bloody and brutal.

That would be horrible if Katniss dies!! or any of the characters for that matter.

It would be terrible, horrible, no-good, very-bad if Katniss died. *shudders*

My least favorite would be when Gale kisses Katniss, and then like, instantly breaks up with her. It was so sad. I was like. "Ahh...you should stay together." (Btw, this is why Katniss should choose Gale)
Anyways, I like HG better because it's acutaly the games.

He kisses her, then just walks off. No comment after that, Like ever.
He does get seethingly mad when Peeta and Katniss are 'engaged'.

I think that's WHY he walked off. If Peeta never existed....
1. Gale and Katniss would've won The Hunger Games
2. Gale and Katniss would truly be in love(like, they wouldn't just think it, they would be kissing more than on rime)
3. Gale and Katniss would get married.

They wouldn't ask Peta if gale and katniss were both chosen because no one really knew that Katniss and Peta had ever even talked before. I think someone from the Hob would have taken care of them.

Ok...now that I am rereading Catching Fire i think its just as good as the HG. I totally forgot everything about it.

What do you guys think about when gale said to Katniss that he should have volunteered for peeta in the 74th HG. I mean how would that have made anything any easier for Katniss. At least one of them would have died. I just didn't get it when he said that... Comments?

look, I hate him, too, but in his defense, if he was in the HG and they played out exactly how katniss and peeta's HG went, they would be together after and both of them would be happy :)... yeah I guess thats what gale meant. Oh well..

personally, i like the hunger games for the fighting, not the lovey dovey story within it.

i like both aspects of the story...action and love.

I didn't like Catching Fire either, and I'm not sure I'm going to read the final book. A couple other people I talked with who read the books didn't care much for books 2 or 3. I may eventually read the 3rd one out of curiosity though later on.

its true that its not as good as the first two but it is still amazing and has some very awesome and funny parts in it!!!

The Hunger Games. In my opinion, most series have the best book first.

If Gale were to volunteer for Petas place then no one would provide for their families... He probably considered it when Katniss was up there.. talking as if it were reall... lol.
