In clear language, the story of the Warsaw Ghetto is told in eight chapter. The first seven are Jews, the eighth is SS General Stroop, who oversaw the final destruction of the Warsaw ghetto. Each chapter tells the circumstances of one particular actor in the ghetto, giving quick background and then tying their activities to the overall narrative of the years 1939 – 1943. The primary sources are letters and journals and a few reminiscences. Other primary documents are photos, posters, notices and cartoons of the time period.
The story is adequately portrayed. It’s a good effort. Several good titles in the bibliography too. ( )
