I got this thinking it was part of a different series about werewolves that also have moon in all the titles. No big, I'll read this and if I like it will go back and do the series. Alexandra Trevalyn is strong and sharp and does what most people can't: She kills werewolves. Once upon a time, she was part of an elite team of hunters, but she's rogue now, but still just as determined to rid the world of the bloodthirsty monsters. Alex had no choice but to kill Julian Barlow's wife and now she must pay for that decision. Julian is downright vicious in his plan, and turns Alex into a member of his own pack. It's just a matter of time before Alex falls under Julian's spell. Now a werewolf, she can't deny that he has awakened passion within her as well as the moon's call and the evil that waits in the shadows. Sultry, wicked--whether human or wolf. Excellent read. This is the first boook I have read by Lori Handeland and found it different and page moving. The main characters are Alexandra Trevalyn and Julian Barlow and the electricity between them is very emotional. Alex is trying to klill werewolves and find the killer of her father. She, as her father, belongs to the Jager-Sucher, whose main purpose is to kill the werewolves. Juilan Barlow is the alpha or leader of werewolves who live in Alaska. He makes werewolves, who accept the change, and they are part of his group that live in Barlowsville. Be prepared for some sulty scenes and also some language the author uses. I want to remark that she does a good job using the word, Inuit instead of the common word Eskimo. The book mentions some of the words we no longer use and Eskimo is one of them. (I personally feel it is a matter of becoming educated on words and when people use them, they are used to using the old terms.) Read her book to get a different type of book and "feel" the feelings of the charcters. Lori Habndeland does a good job of bringing the reader into the book. I look froward to reading her other books. Look for her on Facebook. MARKED BY THE MOON by Lori Handeland is a fantastic paranormal romantic suspense novel set in modern day Alaska. It is well written with great details, depth, twists, turns, a page turner and a keeper. It is "A Nightcreature Novel". It has romance, sensuality, werewolves, murder, some wit, family, brotherhood, primal passions, bloodthirsty beasts, soul mates, human to wolf, wickedness, trying to find peace in a world of wickedness, hope, redemption, secrets and shadows. The characters are intriguing, some are selfless, some are wicked, the romance is sexy, witty, the banter between the hero and heroine is entertainment in itself. The hero, Julian, is centuries old, handsome, a werewolf, out for revenge in the killing of his wife, an alpha male, the leader of his pack, has magical powers also and he turns the killer of his wife into an werewolf also. The heroine, Alex, is beautiful, his a hunter of werewolves, tough as nails, rogue hunter, hunting for her father's killer(a werewolf),killed Julian's wife, turned into a werewolf by Julian for revenge and the elite group of hunter's leader wants her to spy on Julian and his group. Although, Julian has turned her into a werewolf, she can't deny her attraction to him. She soon learns, not all werewolves are killers. She feels the wild freedom of the wolf running through her veins and can't deny her primal passion for Julian. Julian also can't deny his attraction to Alex, they soon succumb to their primal passion. Learn their is also a killer werewolf among their group. Must find him or her and destroy they before they are destroy. The killer is closer than they think and is after his own revenge. This is a fast paced, action packed, full of banter and wit story that will leave you wanting more. I would highly recommend this book especially,if you enjoy paranormal romance with a little twist, this is for you. This book was received for review from the publisher and details can be found at St. Martin's Paperbacks and My Book Addiction and More. Alex is a werewolf hunter, trained by her Jäger-Sucher father after her mother was killed by a werewolf. She's hunted on her own after her father is also killed by a werewolf. Julian is the head of a group of werewolves he's created, but unlike most other werewolves, his group doesn't believe in killing. Julian has hunted Alex since she killed his gentle wife and turns her when finding her. He plans on leaving her alone to suffer while learning `the other side' but finds he can't leave her behind. In the meantime, Edward, the head of the Jäger-Sucher finds Alex and tasks her with being a spy in Julian's camp as they fear he's creating a werewolf army and no one sent after him has returned. This is the ninth book in the Nightcreature paranormal romance series, mostly dealing with werewolves and hunters. But whereas most of the books focus on the werewolf as the bad guy, here the hunter learns things aren't as cut and dried as they seem. This has added new life to this popular series. Interesting characters, mystery and sexual tension in a remote Alaskan setting. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
