Inside, two women are found dead, and the Prefect of Police is baffled. This is the movie version of the retelling of Edgar Allan Poe's classic short story of the same title. Several murders take place, the most prolific is that of two women as they are attacked on the fourth floor of the house on Rue Morgue. Auguste Dupin, a former police chief and fine detective, decides to take on this case when his soon to be son-in-law is accused of the murder. The acting in this movie was under-par, even though the story line was very interesting.
