These are real people. Heck, even adults are proper adult-y adults people. Not a place-holder, not a cardboard cut-out.

An excellent story with some real poignant and, at times, painful moments for the protagonist. ( )

Although this Young Adult book has the potential, I did not see the author going in depth at times. I won't claim that the lead character was definitely likable. He was tolerable. There were more characters in this book than some other YA books. It was a shame that not much was shared on Keith, Shawn, Nick and even Billy.

Some plots were brushed through. It was too easy - the preparation for the stage play, the time-juggling between part-time job, school drama club, studies and love interest.

Still, I admire the plot. I was about to believe that I was going to read a YA book about a gay boy who could go no-wrong, but just like any other common books, the world came crushing down one day... and surprisingly, that worked out a little too fast... again. ( )
