What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Unfortunately, this is not the case for Autumn Haven who, after spending 72 incredible hours with hockey star Sam Leclaire finds herself deserted in a hotel room with a marriage license and a permanent reminder. Now divorced and a single mother, Autumn comes face-to-face with her ex who wants nothing more than to pick up where they left off. Can Autumn find love again with the man who broke her heart?

Like most of Gibson's heroes, Sam is deeply flawed. He initially comes across as a selfish narcissist only interested in his own needs and desires. It quickly becomes clear that there is more to him than meets they eye and that he truly loves his son and wants to be a good father.

Autumn is a strong and courageous heroine, and the fact that she doesn't simply forgive and forget Sam's actions make her even more appealing. Sam has to work hard to win Autumn back and this makes for an even better romance.

The secondary cast are an added bonus. Autumn and Sam's son is just the cutest and Autumn's brother Vince is intriguing. In fact, it appears that he has his own book - Rescue Me, which I will be reading very soon.

All in all a wonderful second chances romance. ( )

Just can't make myself read this. This is exactly the sort of 2nd chance at love stories that I don't like even if the writing is good.

The start put me off, if it's one thing I don't like is when the hero is in bed with a woman or at least leaving the bed of a woman who is not the heroine of the book right at the beginning. ( )

nota review, but rather a note to self:

H is a DICK. No way no how could I forgive his asshattery especially since he didn't seem to feel any genuine remorse. I didn't believe for a second he was changing his stripes. And the h.... Well she was even more upsetting. Beyond TSTL, someone treats you that way you NEVER go back for seconds.

Can't even imagine a HEA for this couple (and I have an excellent imagination) ( )

I got about two chapters into this book before deciding that I probably wouldn't like it very much. Heroines with kids just aren't my favorite to read about, and the kids turn into total plot moppets most of the time. But I ended up being very pleasantly surprised that I ended up really liking it! There was a ton of baggage that had to be worked through, and I thought their journey was believable and sweet. Though the ending itself was a bit too sweet. Sweet level: cavity causing.

But year, def looking for more by this author since she made me like a trope I usually stay away from really work for me. ( )
