They burn through all their old ideas so fast now--usually for the fifth time around--that you wonder what they'll do by, say, November 2015, especially when any time you want to rehabilitate any concept now it means ignoring all the dying that happened last time and ignoring all the ways in which bringing said concept back makes nooooooo sense. Case in point: This is a story about Apocalypse. It's not "duh-duh" incompetent, but it just makes you think about how many times we've been down this road and how little any of it meant. The X-Men do not kill. But when Apocalypse - the mutant despot who has countless times brought humanity to the brink of destruction - returns, Wolverine knows there's only one solution: the recently reconstituted X-Force! The new team - consisting of Deadpool, Archangel, Psylocke and Fantomex - must destroy En Sabah Nur. But can Wolverine's secret team survive Apocalypse's deadly Final Horsemen? And even if they do, can they kill the reborn Apocalypse when the greatest threat the world has ever faced is now no more than an innocent child? Also collects material from Wolverine: Road To Hell And All-New Wolverine Saga. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

First up on the list: Apocalypse is, once again, back, and now the covert X-Force has to take him down to save the world (of course, without the world's knowledge). Deadpool finds the lair, and the rest of the team joins him to battle the "final" four horsemen. The problem is that Apocalypse is currently a child, and even though the members of the X-Force practice taking down one of their own in the Danger Room (Psylocke stabs Dark Angel in the heart, even though she's currently dating Angel), they can't seem to kill a child. Well, most of them can't, anyway.
Altogether, this book was a bit more than okay. Like I said, I'm not a huge X fan; my favorite X characters are usually on the periphery or keep "dying" (Cable in particular). So I could do without the X minutiae that, of course, has to populate every X book. But once that's done, it's a fairly good read. I hate Way's take on Deadpool, but I think Remender (so far) does a better job with the character. Deadpool's funny, but not an idiot. And there are no multiple boxes (just the yellow ones). Thank goodness. I'd love to see more banter between Fantomex and Deadpool, which has the potential to be seriously hilarious. ( )
