This is a book of many poems, each page contains a different short story poem. In a classroom this is great to give students another example of writing and broaden their reading lists, as well as introduce the idea of poetry for them to try. ( ) Summary This book offers several great poems for children to read and have fun with. I especially enjoyed "I Woke Up This Morning". This one is about a little girl who had a bad day and wants to stay in the next day. Personal Response Most children and adults can relate to this poem because we all have bad days and just want to stay in bed. Extension Ideas 1. Play jump rope rymes. 2. Create poetry excuses on why to not get out of bed. Summary: This book is a collection of award winners' poems. "How to eat a poem" Form of the poem: free verse This poem is mostly unrhymed and lacks a consistent rhythm. Use: 1. As an introduction of poem, this poem can be an interesting leading in. 2. We can use this poem to show that poems are quit and easy to be understood. Genre: Poetry This collection of short poems is great! The book is sectioned off by Author, and all of the illustrations are sketches with pencil. My favorite poem that I read was called "My Cat and I" When I flop down To take a rest My cat jumps up Upon my chest She Kneads my sweater With her paws... And sometimes even Uses claws. She rubs my chin And purrs away, As if I am A game to play. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
